Uses / Indications: Janumet 50 mg/500 mg Tablet is used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes. It is used in addition to diet and exercise to improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes.
Pregnancy interaction: Janumet 50 mg/500 mg Tablet is probably safe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effect on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. Please consult your doctor.
Expert advice: You have been prescribed this combination medicine as it can control blood sugar better than metformin alone. Blood sugar is controlled throughout the day, including after meals. Chances of weight gain and low blood sugar are lesser as compared to other diabetes medicines. Take with meals to lower your chance of having an upset stomach. Monitor your blood sugar regularly. Tell your doctor immediately if you experience any deep or rapid breathing, or persistent nausea, vomiting, and stomach pain.
